When your little one is learning to toddle, a ride-on toy is a great buy. All that leg pushing and muscle work helps strengthen their legs in preparation for walking and some double as baby walkers too.
Many of these ride-ons have cheerful characters that your little one will love and start to role-play with. They can name their toy and it will become a much-loved friend.
Using a ride-on toy will also be a great preparation for the transition to a scooter and then to a bike, as babies learn to love the motion - and the speed!
Here are some of the best ride-on toys we have discovered.
Ladybird Wheely Bug Ride-On
In a variety of fun designs including mouse, bumble bee and tiger and in 2 sizes, the Wheely Bug is different to other ride-ons because it can go backwards and forwards and also side to side, with unlimited movement in any direction. Your little one can go round and round your room or garden in any direction they choose! They are designed to be strong to offer hours of fun and they also allow your child to develop their confidence, spatial awareness and, of course their gross motor skills. The body of the creature is made from mock leather that's well padded and is also easy to clean.

It both encourages gross motor skills and imaginative play.
