If Tesco is your go-to supermarket, make sure you check you fridge for this popular cheese product, which has been recalled over contamination fears.
The retail giant pulled the product from shelves as a precautionary measure due to the possibility the bags could be contaminated with small pieces of plastic.
The recalled food item is as follows:
- 500g Creamfields grated cheddar, which has the best-before date 23/03/23.
The supermarket commented:
'We’re recalling one date code of Tesco Creamfields grated cheddar 500g. This is because it may contain small pieces of clear, soft plastic which could make the product unsafe to eat.'
Customers who have bought the product have been warned not to eat the cheese, and to 'return any affected product to store where a full refund will be given'.
In a recall notice, the retailer also explained: 'Tesco apologises to our customers for any inconvenience caused.
'If you require further details, please contact Customer Services directly on: UK 0800 505 555.'
Tesco assured customers would not need a receipt to return the product for a refund.
In other product recall news, last week we reported that Amazon and Zara had issued urgent clothing and toy recalls due to choking risks.
Zara said the buttons on its Zara Kids Newborn Ribbed Romper could easily come away from the material and could be swallowed by a child.
Meanwhile, Amazon commented that the Onsinic Pea Plush toy poses a 'high' choking risk.
