Stacey Solomon tearful after her dad's sweet holiday gesture

Last modified on Wednesday 12 April 2023

Mum of 5 Stacey jetted off to Abu Dhabi on a family holiday with her dad, husband and kids. Now she's shared details about where the family stayed, what they did – and her dad's gesture that made her cry

We've been excitedly awaiting EVERY detail of Stacey Solomon's 'magical' family holiday to Abu Dhabi and so far the TV presenter hasn't disappointed fans.

She's shared snippets of her trip with followers every day, as well as plenty of photos and videos of husband Joe Swash, 41, their children Belle , 1 month, Rose, 16 months, and Rex, 3, and her older children Zachary, 15, and Leighton, 10 and her dad Grangrad – who joined the family on holiday.

But it wasn't until Stacey, 33, and her family arrived home over the Easter weekend, that the Sort Your Life Out host realised something was different about this trip.

She was in some of the pictures.

As parents we take hundreds of pictures of our kids but it's rare that we actually feature in them as well, which is why Stacey said the touching gesture she received from her dad had made her feel so emotional.

Aww, Stace!

'Turns out my dad still takes videos of me the way I do of my babies'

As Stacey shared a sweet video montage taken by her dad – which featured lots of videos of her and the children – she told followers it had made her cry.

The mum of 5 revealed that finding out her dad still takes videos of her the way she does her own children had really touched her and she shared how grateful she was that he was able to capture these memories.

Alongside the video montage, she wrote:

'😭 I’m crying 😭

'So turns out my dad still takes videos of me the way I do of my babies 😭 I hardly ever get videos of me like this. It’s usually pictures I force Joe to take so they know I was actually there 😂'

Stacey added that she usually only has selfies of herself in her own camera roll, and that this sweet gesture had made her 'emotional'.

'I can’t tell you how emotional I feel right now'

She added:

'My camera roll mostly looks like I just popped in with a selfie or in the mirror video… I can’t tell you how emotional I feel right now.

'One day in years to come please g-d the pickles will have these to watch & remember the special times we had 😭 I don’t care about the angles, my hair, my face, my body or the fact I’m mostly s un creaming everyone half the time 😂

'I’m just so grateful to have these… forever and always Dad…'

She finished by adding how these photos would be ones she'd treasure:

'🏝️ What an adventure we will treasure forever 🥹'

'I worry so much sharing sometimes'

After arriving home from holiday, Stacey took to Instagram to answer fans questions about the holiday, revealing all on where they stayed, where they ate and what adventures they went on with the kids.

However, the mum was careful not to overshare with followers, adding to her Insta stories on Sunday (9 April) that she knew some people were really struggling financially.

As she revealed how much she appreciated the messages from people who loved seeing all her content, Stacey wrote:

'I worry so much sharing sometimes because I know it's really s**t out there for lots of people and holidays are super expensive and lots of people are unable to go.

'So I'd never want to make anyone feel rubbish.'

Stacey continued:

'But all of your lovely messages have just made me so happy and so glad I shared it all with you guys.'

Answering fans Q&A questions

Stacey began by answering her fans' most asked question – asking where the family stayed.

'We actually stayed in a villa but it was inside a hotel called @jumeirahsaadiyat', she revealed on her Insta stories. 'It was INCREDIBLE. It was a hotel but we could book a 3 bedroom villa which was AMAZING because there's so many of us we need 2 rooms otherwise.'

Stacey added:

'The food, restaurants, staff, beach that it's on, kids clubs, pools, EVERYTHING was just brilliant. I would go back in a heartbeat.'

As she revealed that the villa also came with a garden and pool too, Stacey added that the food was 'unbelievable', explaining that the food portions were 'so big' they were able to fill up for lunch too.

As fans also asked the mum of 5 if she kept to a routine on holiday, Stacey admitted she 'had to go with the flow', adding that the younger children had often napped in the double buggy.

'It was the best thing we brought with us, it saved us so many times,' she explained.

Taking to her Instagram grid, Stacey shared other details with her fans, including the travel company they'd booked the trip through, the places the family visited on holiday – Ferrari World, Warner Bros World and Yas Waterworld – and the places they ate out at.

'I wish I'd booked longer,' Stacey added on her Insta stories. 'The freedom they [the kids] felt just running around in the warmth. I just loved seeing them in that environment.'
