Excellent pushchair

Ease of use

This pushchair is everything you could want from a pushchair, easy to use, put up and down and store, high quality, built to last and tackles a variety of terrains with ease.

What I love

I love that its so lightweight to push and so easy to steer. Its brilliant off road and effortless to push over a variety of terrains. I love that the seat reclines flat for naps on the go, and how flat it folds down. It comfortably accommodates my 1,2 and even my 4 year old so its a pushchair that will last and see you through the baby days, toddler days and beyond.

What to watch out for

The wheels can puncture but are easy to repair. Its not parent facing but there is a viewing window in the hood.

I heard a lot of good things about the nipper single v4 so thought i would buy one for second little one. It is a fairly cheap buggy so i was a little concerned but after reading lots of reviews, I thought I would take a chance and make the purchase! I have to say - it is great! I really enjoy taking my little girl on some rougher ground walks and this handles it perfectly. Very surprised but in a good way.

What makes it even better is that I found it with about £10 off the usual price. I bought it from buggy baby for £250 in black (think others might be a bit more) https://www.buggybaby.co.uk/out-n-about-nipper-single-v4-pushchair-p225 i really like this one

I have a confession to make.... I am a buggy-aholic. When I was pregnant with my 1st child we went out and bought a travel system in anticipation. I did everything you're supposed to do, took it for a stroll around the store, checked it fitted in the car, assembled it and took it apart again. I was concious that I didn't want to spend a fortune and was thinking that we'd just have 1 child so longevity wasn't really on my radar either. Anyway, the upshot of all of this is that after he was born and we started using it I realised that it didn't tick all my boxes and so the quest for the perfect buggy was born. The Out n About nipper was pushchair number 5 and was where my quest finally ended. I love this buggy! It is light weight for an all terrain buggy. It fits in the boot of my car (which as my OH frequently moans is hopelessly undersized) and is easy to put up and put down. My son always looked comfy in it and the seat is easy to recline. What I really love is that it is a dream to push - you can do it with one finger should you feel the need! You can get adapters to use it as a travel system with the maxi cosi car seat and you can also get a carry cot which connects in the same way. The carrycot is not the most padded or luxurious but it is light and my LO seems to like it. We're now using it for baby no.2 so it ticks the longevity box too. Only criticism would be that the baskets underneath aren't huge - TBH if that's my only criticism that's good going :-)

Our review

The newest incarnation of Out n About’s popular Nipper, the V4 is ideal for city living and off-roading with lots of good features.

Our review

The latest (fourth to be exact as the name suggests) version of the popular all-terrain buggy still ticks all the boxes for parents wanting a nippy and robust three-wheeled model that can be used in both city and country. It’s particularly light for an all-terrain model and nippy enough to be handled easily, but has the sturdiness that will make off-roading a doddle, too. The Nipper also has the added flexibility of forming a travel system and it can also have a carrycot attached for extra newborn comfort, too.

But why are 3-in-1 travel systems so popular? Unlike a traditional pram they can be used in three different ways, firstly with a carrycot as a lie-flat pram for newborns, and also as a travel system by attaching a car seat to its chassis. This has the advantage of making travelling by car much more straightforward with a baby in tow, as you can move them from house to car and back again without have to pick them or disturb them. The Nipper is compatible with Maxi Cosi’s CabrioFix or Pebble car seats.

Once they’re bigger you can then move the 3-in-1 to its final configuration by removing the carrycot and attaching the pushchair seat. This means you can then use the seat well into the toddler years. The downside is that they tend to be pretty heavy and bulky, and you’ll also have to have space to store all the pieces you’re not using. Using a carrycot with the Nipper is not essential however, as the pushchair seat is suitable from birth.

The V4 is designed to be easy to push on all surfaces, with pneumatic tyres and a lockable 360-degree swivel front wheel. You also have the option to buy puncture-proof wheels if you prefer them to air-filled ones, or always make sure you carry a puncture repair kit if need be. It’s easy to fold, and although it’s slightly bulky when folded, removing the quick-release wheels reduces the size making it easier to transport and store.

There’s also a height adjustable handlebar, great for parents of differing heights, an easy lock pedal brake, plus we love the handy storage pockets on each side of the canopy and also the large shopping pouch perfect for stashing all your essentials. Included with the buggy is a hinged padded bumper bar, removable padded seat liner and rain cover.

Netmums' verdict

Well-priced off road buggy that has the added practicality of converting to a travel system , too.
