My son wearing tights

Hello! I am fairly new to this site, but I am looking for some advice.
Due to our heater currently not working correctly, my son (13) has recently been complaining to me about how cold it is inside the house. My daughter (14) asked him if he wanted to have some pairs of her tights in order to keep warm. He agreed to this offer, and after asking me, I said that I didn’t mind and that it was up to him.
I had discussed this with one of my friends, who said that he would never live it down if seen wearing them by his friends and such.
3 weeks later, He continues to wear them indoors under his trousers, but he does not wear socks over them.
I have asked him if he also wears them outdoors or to school, which he said he often does under his trousers, just not on PE days (for obvious reasons).
Could this be some sort of stage he is going through in his life?
Should I continue letting him wear them if he wants to?

I used to play American Football.
I wear tights quite a lot when it's cold. So do a lot of my co-workers. So does my son.
So do quite a few of my Scouts when we go camping in the winter.
And apart from a little bit of light hearted ribbing, none of us have had any problems.
My son wears tights as they make him feel like he has a extra layer of skin who cares he's obviously happy.
It’s no difference to wearing Long Johns under his trousers… my brothers also wear tights under their trousers as they trap the air and keep them very warm… as a girl, I never thought of doing it myself, so I tried it… and you know what!? The boys had the right idea
Never understood the problem English people have with boys wearing tights. I am from Europe and boys do wear tights in boy colours. I make my half English son to wear tights and his English family thinks I am mad. Not sure who is mad when its cold out there.

your child was cold. He is now not cold. Sounds fine to me.

I am often cold and wear tights under my trousers, if your son wants to for the same reason do not see there being an issue at all

Seriously nothing to worry about. It's just material, it's not like he's full on cross dressing (not that that's a problem either).
