How much board should we charge our 19 year old son?
Our son has recently finished full time education (though hasn’t ruled out going back in a year or so) and is working on building a career in music. He spends much of his time creating and sharing tracks, and is starting to get some good feedback from professionals. He works approx 27 hours per week in Wetherspoons and hopes this will increase to full time at some point. It pays well and supports him while he works on his music. My husband would like him to start paying board, which my son and I do not think unreasonable. But we cannot agree how much that should be. My husband thinks £100 a week while I think £50 is an acceptable amount. What do others charge their kids?
How much would a room in an HMO, inclusive of bills, cost in your area?
