Hi. My baby is 3 months old and is exclusively breastfeeding. Is it normal for her to go almost 2 weeks without pooping?? Her doctor said it's fine but my cousin's baby who is 2 months old and is also exclusively breastfeeding poops every day.

Hi Areefa

Stool patterns in LOs can vary from baby to baby. Some babies may go several times a day whilst others every few days. Some LOs can go several days with having a poo however they can be very uncomfortable. If your LO has not passed a stool after several days it would be worth contacting your GP or Health Visitor to discuss in more depth.

Has your LO not passed a stool for 2 weeks? If so, how are they in themselves?

You can always speak to NHS 111 over the weekend if you are concerned.

Best wishes

Emma
