Anyone had a budget wedding

I was wondering if there was anyone on here who has had a wedding under £1000, and is willing to share how they did it!
One of my wife's friends had a very budget wedding.
All the happy couple paid for was a simple ceremony at the Registe Office with about ten guests, then we all walked to the pub across the road and had a few drinks and soe chips.
Apparently they didn't bother with rings either.
Whole thing cost less than £200.
Our wedding was a bit more expensive. Came out at around £2000 including the ceremony, reception, rings, dress and honeymoon, with the honeymoon costing around £900 of that. We paid for the rings by trading in some old gold, meal was a wedding present from a family friend, car a present from another friend, and photos were done by one of my wife's work colleagues in return for a favour.
Register Office ceremony, and the reception was at a local Scout Hut.
