My boy is 5 and had chicken pox around 5 weeks ago, I noticed two pea size lumps on the back of his head and 1 other pea size lump other side but on the base line of hia head. I took him to the drs and the nurse practitioner said they were lymph nodes she said they would go after 2-3 weeks! I’m now worried as they have been there more than 2-3 weeks! Has anyone else had any experience of this? TIA

Hi Ffion,

Lymph nodes can become swollen when the body fights infection. It can also take a little while for them to go down as children can take longer to make a full recovery than adults.

If you are concerned it may be worth a call to the GP surgery as they have already assessed your LO and can you let you know a bit more of when they would like to reassess if they remain swollen.

I hope this helps

Best wishes

Emma
