Hi, my 11 month old daughter is not walking yet and when she tries to pull herself up holding furniture she stands up, but on her tip toes. She can definitely put one of her feet flat on the floor but I rarely see her put the other foot down. Is this something I should be worried about?

Hi Nikki,

Standing on tip toes can be common for non walkers as they are learning to find their feet and reach this next big milestone.

We usually allow LOs up until they are 18 months to walk until we reassess so lots of time for your LO to build confidence with this skill.

You can help encourage her to weight bear and supporting her weight for short periods. But ultimately she will do this when she is ready. If by 18 months she is not able to weight bear on both feet then please speak to your Health Visitor who can advice further.

Best wishes
