Hi Lynette,

I'm Loraine, one of the Netmums' Parent Supporters.

I'm sorry you and your son are going through this right now, it sounds very distressing - sending gentle hugs your way this morning.

If any allegations are made that could affect the safety of a child, Children's Services have a legal duty to investigate and carry out an assessment. I have found some information that both you and your son can read which details what is involved. The organisation are called the Child Law Advice Service and your son could email them with any specific concerns he may have and their legal team will get back to you. You can access the relevant pages at: https://childlawadvice.org.uk/information-pages/child-protection-referral-assessments-and-outcomes/

There is also a government website which offers advice to parents on how to make contact arrangements, following separation. You can read more at: https://helpwithchildarrangements.service.justice.gov.uk/

Hopefully, some of our netmums' community who can relate to your post, will drop by soon and share their experience and advice with you, but in the meantime feel free to keep chatting here and we'll try to get you the best information that we can.

Best Wishes.
