I want some advice please I have a 2 year old already.

This has happened on mistake not planned a one night stand please no judgement.

I already have children services involved due to a previous ex partner dv and abusive and they have a supervision order no parental responsibility over my son.

Everything going really well no concerns and they said they were planning to discharge everything in 3 months.

What I really want too know has anyone been in this situation I don’t want to lose my little boy due to this but I really am not one for abortions it breaks my heart I have had one before and I still feel guilt to this day.

Can anyone please give me advice to a mumma who needs a helping hand this is the 2nd test that has come back positive

Thank you

Hi Shannon

I am a family solicitor and regularly represent parents in cases involving Social Services.

I am sorry to hear that you are worried about Social Services’ involvement with your unborn baby and it is completely understandable. I of course do not know your specific circumstances however it is really important to be open and honest with Social Services and to work with them. They may wish to complete an assessment and it would be important to engage with this.

I am pleased to hear that everything is going well in respect of your 2 year old and I hope that all goes well with your unborn baby as well.

All the best,

Lauren

Hi there,

I told them when I was 9 weeks and 3 days they are still discharging my son in august they are presently doing a child in need assessment for the unborn child there decision will come back next week hopefully. It has all been rather confusing as they have said they have no concerns and they aren’t worried so we have engaged but still questioning why they are doing the assessment.

Thank you

Shannon
