I went for a scan today, I know when I conceived which was either 31/5 or 2/6 so I should be just under 7 weeks pregnant, or according to my LMP 7+1. My scan showed me at just under 6 weeks. So I’m about a week behind. I am really worrying about this, has anyone had any positive experiences measuring a whole week behind when being pretty certain of their dates? 1 week seems like a lot to me, when I know my dates!!

I measured 2w behind with my first pregnancy (ended in MMC), 5 days behind with my second pregnancy (another MMC) and 4 days behind with 3rd pregnancy (now a healthy 4 year old!)

Thank you so much for your reply! That’s definitely made me have some hope. Also, I didn’t get a bfp until 2 days after my period was due, even though I knew for certain I was pregnant (it wasn’t planned but very much wanted!) so with all that in mind, it all makes a bit more sense.

I wouldnt worry. I had a scan at what I thought was 7 weeks and they measured me at 6, a week behind.
I then booked a private scan and they measured me as 2 days behind so things caught up.
try not to worry!

Were you tracking ovulation? If not it can be very normal to measure behind as you could have actually ovulated later than you thought. It might have been a long cycle for example if you hadn't got pregnant.

Thank you all for your replies, I’m definitely feeling more confident and happy about things now, especially as yesterday nausea started. Luckily not too much of it but enough to make me feel pregnant

I wasn’t tracking my ovulation, it wasn’t a planned pregnancy, although we wanted a second child and the timing in our family life is just right, so we are very happy! I do track my periods, and I was sure on 2 dates which we were not very careful DTD 31/5 and 2/6. I knew from 7/6 that I was pregnant as I had the very distinctive pregnant boobs start straight away, however I didn’t get a BFP until 16/6 which was very feint yet it was 2 days after AF due. So with all that being said it does sound like I ovulated late I think 🤔

Yes. With my son I went for an 8 week scan and he was 7+2. So 5 days behind.

Turns out I ovulate late in my cycle. Don’t worry x

It’s all so confusing isn’t it!

I went for a scan thinking I was 6+1 but was actually measured at 5+2 so 6 days behind.

Went for another 9 days later was 6+4 so still 6 days behind.

Went for another at 8+6 but was 9+0 so then 5 days behind

THEN my last one should have been 11+1 but was 11+6 so my dates had caught up to being exactly right again!

I wouldn’t worry about it as they change all the time, got my dating scan on Tuesday should be 13+1 but I wouldn’t be surprised if I end up measuring further along again! Xx

im going through something very similar. Was suppose be 6 + 4 but measured 5+6.

there ws gestational sac, fetal pole and everything but still couldn’t see heartbeat.

im very scared.

at this time where you measured 5 weeks, did they see a heartbeat or did that appear in second scan?

thank you so much

Hey, I am the original poster! If it helps - my baby is now coming up to one year old, everything turned out fine with my story. I know it can be very difficult to see a HB before 6w.

From memory I was 5w6d so very nearly 6 weeks which can make all the difference. They did see a HB.
