Cannabis is a drug you need to come off.

It not only affects mental health but has a negative effect on young children, their development, their mental health, affects of second hand smoke like asthma. you breath out smoke and cannabis even after finishing a cigarette. You make different decisions and take risks when on cannabis. The effects on young men is even more recognised.

Cannabis is more dangerous than alcohol.

This is about showing your committment to your child and your ability to place your child first by getting rid of all drugs because cannabis affects children in many ways.

It is not acceptable to say others smoke it when you are in this situation. Do what you need to do to eliminate all drugs which is a major achievement in your part.

Children must come first, second and third in every decision you make and cannabis affects your thinking to do this.

Coming off ketamine etc is an achievement but take the next step to becoming clean and healthy.

Cannabis smoking in pregnancy can affect the child's development, memory and IQ.

Cannabis is not worse than drinking and it acctually does not affect the asthma is a miracle drug perhaps read up on it than scare people . It's cured cancers in people it helps wirh pain and it actually helps asd people and adhd people with their anxiety and help them manage everyday. It dont always get you high it can relax you. It also has never killed a single person where drinking does. There's alot of misinformed information online about it because people are scared of it . But it's alot safer than any man made drug out there 🙄

How do they know about the partying of drugs and alcohol before pregnancy ? Have you been arrested? Were you underage?

I'm confused how you're telling nit like it was hardly ever but they have it on record. If it was hardly ever, how would they know

You need to look after yourself. Get an advocate if you need to. Minimise the things you say to social workers. Yes the do lie on their reports. Little questions about clarififying things can be made against you. Social workers are horrible individuals. Try your best to follow what you need to do to get your baby back. They don't like it when you are keeping your ***** together coz they can not find a hole to dig on but they love when they can see you suffering coz then their work will be A LOT EASIER they can easily recommend to out your child in foster care or adoption for little thing or a tiny hole that you showed then. Stay strong.

I suggest you read the research on the effects and second hand smoking of cannabis on children.

Try Harvard Medical and the Royal college of Psychiatrists latest research.

Research is still ongoing but the effects on children say it may have permanent effects on executive function , memory, and even IQ.

It sounds like you’ve been through a lot and I’m sorry that you’re upset as they’ve taken your baby away. However, if you reread what you’ve read you’ll see there are a number of red flags and I’m not sure social services were wrong in this situation. I also feel that you may not have been supported enough but obviously don’t know that for sure.

I’m not saying any of this to be mean but unless you are honest with yourself and work on the issues, you will lose your baby. In some situations I do think social services are wrong. I don’t believe this is the case for you and your baby. Sorry. ❤️

I suggest you also look at cannabis deaths with 2020 being the highest with 36 deaths in England and Wales. Not at high as drinking but clearly people are dying from cannabis use.

As Scotland has the highest death rate for drug misuse I make the assumption their data is likely to be three times higher in line with other drugs as I can not find the specific Cannabis data. They are lumped together at 1339 Scottish deaths last year. It would be reasonable to say over a 100 deaths would be due to cannabis.

Growing up in a home where adults have alcohol or drug use problems are one of the 10 ACE indicators that affect children along with other abuse like sexual, emotional, physical, verbal, neglect etc.

It is no longer the cannabis widely smoked in the 60's and 70's and is a different strain and strength with cleaning fluids, pesticides and other chemicals added.

You couldn’t sleep at night so slept during the day and sometimes missed your contact meetings? Yet you’re questioning why SS have taken her away. Seriously? You’re using ketamine and mdma yet you expect them to just hand her back over? Drug tests don’t lie. If you want your baby and know they’ll drug test you why would you risk it? Unbelievable. It’s everyone’s fault but yours obviously. What kind of doctor tells you that incredibly helpful statistic on cannabis as well? Just cos others do it it doesn’t mean it’s ok for you to, especially when you’re being monitored. Poor child will no doubt be in n out of care her whole life.

So basically your a drug user and know exactly why they removed your baby,no GP would tell you that because it’s not true, stop the drugs and work to get your baby back and stop lying because no social worker would stop you breast feeding or say it’s cruel unless your using drugs whist breast feeding

You couldn’t make it up,she knows why her baby was taken but it’s not her fault, baby is probably best where she is,safe and has stability and love

The woman is a drug user she knows exactly why her baby was taken,SS work with families to keep them together,by all accounts reading what she’s put drugs sleeping all day missing contact sessions which would have gone towards her getting said baby back, clearly shows that she couldn’t be trusted to look after a baby who would be at risk of neglect

Stop using drugs and try to work

with social services, they obviously thought that your baby needed to be in foster care for a reason or the courts wouldn’t of agreed it !! Your best chance is to work with social services and prove that you can provide a safe home for your baby , it’s happened now so all can can do is try to look forward and do whatever it takes !! Drug tests parenting classes and whatever they ask you to do if you really want your baby back !! Make sure you turn up at all contacts to see your baby with no excuses to why you couldn’t come

I’m really sorry that you’re in this situation and my heart goes out to you and your baby but you really need to wake up to the reality of your situation. Instead of making excuses about why this isn’t your fault, just ask social services what you can do to get your daughter back. If you read what you’ve written back to yourself then maybe you can gain some insight because it’s REALLY important to recognise where you’ve gone wrong or you won’t change, you won’t get your daughter back and eventually you may lose rights to her. Get clean, get therapy, turn up to visits and be consistently there for her. If you’re offered support like parenting classes- attend them in a sober state of mind. Do whatever you are told to to get her back, ask social services for a list of conditions/goals you need to meet in order to get her back. That is the best advice, rather than fighting social services and explaining away your behaviour take ownership so you can be the best mum you can be. Your daughter deserves to have you in her life, happy and healthy. I wish you loads of luck, I hope you’re not offended but you are getting in your own way and sometimes the truth is the most helpful x

I agree with this one.

Hi,

Sorry but I can see why baby was took off you from what u wrote. Stop blaming social services, get off the drugs, and ask what u have to do to get your baby back. They will have told u why baby was taken away they have to. Get your own place to live, don't do drugs, have u got a job? Get one even if volunteering, it will all go towards getting your baby back. You can do it.
